Glass Roots Construction needs two foremen around Portland to run aerial and underground fiber placement crews, mostly fiber blowing and innerduct pulling. The role pays $30–38/hr, involves about 75% travel and includes on-call emergency repair work.
The work
- Lead crews blowing fiber, pulling innerduct and placing cable, and plan the daily work and routes
- Run and train crews on jetting equipment, capstans, compressors and reel trailers
- Handle DOT traffic control, safety compliance and client, permitting and inspector contact
What they want
- Experience leading telecom or underground utility crews
- Able to read blueprints and run fiber blowing or pulling equipment
- Clean driving record (CDL preferred) and able to travel 75% and be on call
