Glass Roots Construction is hiring an hourly, overtime-eligible fiber splicer based in Austin, with about 75% travel to field sites. Prior splicing or telecom experience is desirable but not required. The role reports to the company's fiber splicing manager.
The work
- Install aerial and underground cable and splice and test fiber
- Troubleshoot signal loss and cable damage, including emergency callouts
- Maintain and calibrate splicing gear and keep production records up to date
What they want
- Valid driver's license
- Normal color vision, fine hand dexterity, able to lift 40 lbs and work in vaults or bucket trucks
- Splicing or telecom experience is a plus, not required
