Mainline is hiring a local splicer in Panama City to build and maintain outside-plant fiber. The job covers fusion splicing, OTDR and power-meter testing, and troubleshooting, and it includes an emergency on-call rotation.
The work
- Fusion splice fiber and test it with OTDRs, power meters and light sources
- Work from construction drawings and specs
- Track down breaks, bends and bad connections in fiber cable
- Back up installation crews and take part in on-call emergency coverage
What they want
- At least 1 year of OSP fiber construction experience
- Hands-on fusion splicing and OTDR skills
- Valid driver's license and a high school diploma or GED
- Must live in the Panama City area; FOT, FTTH, flagger or climbing certifications are a plus
