Vero Broadband is hiring a fiber splicer in Eureka to splice, test and troubleshoot its FTTH network on aerial and underground plant. Nights, weekends and on-call shifts are part of the job, and a company vehicle is provided.
The work
- Prep and fusion splice single-mode or multimode fiber
- Test and troubleshoot with an OTDR, power meter, fiber identifier and scope
- Install and test cross-connects
- Run a bucket truck under supervision
What they want
- 1-2 years of splicing experience preferred
- Comfortable with fusion splicers, OTDRs and hand tools
- Valid license that passes an MVR check; high school diploma or GED
- Flexible for nights, weekends and on-call rotation
